Bill Summary

This legislation, known as the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway Bill, aims to designate certain highways in Kentucky as high priority corridors and future interstates. The bill specifically designates the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway, which runs from the interchange with Interstate 65 in Barren County, Kentucky to the interchange with U.S. Highway 27 in Somerset, Kentucky, as a high priority corridor and future interstate. It also assigns the route the designation of Interstate Route I-365. Additionally, the bill amends existing laws to allow for the operation of vehicles on this designated route.

Possible Impacts

1. It could potentially affect the travel and transportation options for people living in Kentucky, especially those living along the designated highways and corridors.
2. It could also have an impact on the economy of Kentucky, as the designation of future interstates and high priority corridors may attract more businesses and commerce to the state.
3. The legislation could also potentially have environmental implications, as the construction and operation of these highways could impact local ecosystems and natural resources.
