Bill Summary

This legislation is aimed at reestablishing the National Coal Council within the Department of Energy. This council will provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy on matters related to coal and the coal industry. The bill also specifies that the National Coal Council will operate under the same charter that was in effect on November 19, 2021. The legislation also states that the Federal Advisory Committee Act will apply to the council, with the exception of Section 1013 of title 5, which would not apply. This act is known as the "National Coal Council Reestablishment Act."

Possible Impacts

1. The reestablishment of the National Coal Council could have an impact on individuals who work in the coal industry. This legislation may affect their job security, as well as the overall health and stability of the industry as a whole.

2. The National Coal Council may provide recommendations to the Secretary of Energy that could potentially influence government policies and regulations related to coal. This could have an impact on individuals who live in communities that heavily rely on coal production, as well as those who are concerned about the environmental impact of coal.

3. This legislation may also affect taxpayers, as the National Coal Council will be funded by the Department of Energy. This could potentially lead to changes in the distribution of government funds and resources, which could have an impact on individuals depending on their personal interests and needs.
