Bill Summary

The Northern Arizona Protection Act is a proposed bill that aims to nullify Presidential Proclamation 10606, which established the Baaj Nwaavjo I'tah Kukveni-Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument. This bill would withdraw certain land in Arizona from mineral entry and restrict the use of the Antiquities Act in the designated area. It also prohibits any future extensions or establishment of national monuments in the area without express authorization from Congress. This bill is also known as the "Northern Arizona Protection Act" and is intended to protect the land and resources in the designated area.

Possible Impacts

1. This legislation could affect the indigenous peoples who have ancestral ties to the land by restricting their rights to protect and preserve the area.
2. It could also impact businesses and organizations that rely on the land for resource extraction or other activities, as they may no longer be able to access the area.
3. The nullification of the Presidential Proclamation could lead to legal disputes and uncertainty for those who had previously been granted permission to use the land for various purposes.
