Bill Summary
This bill aims to withdraw a specific area of land, approximately 3,055 acres, within the San Bernardino National Forest in California from any future mining activities. This means that the land will no longer be available for entry, appropriation, or disposal under public land laws, and it will also be protected from any location, entry, or patent under mining laws. Additionally, the bill also prohibits any operation of the mineral leasing, mineral materials, and geothermal leasing laws within this area. This legislation aims to protect the natural resources and preserve the land within the San Bernardino National Forest.
Possible Impacts
1. Individuals or companies who were planning to mine on the specified land will no longer be able to do so, potentially impacting their business plans and financial stability.
2. Residents or outdoor enthusiasts who frequently use the land for recreational purposes may be impacted if they are no longer able to access the area due to the withdrawal.
3. Environmental activists and conservationists may view this legislation as a positive step in protecting natural resources, while those in the mining industry may see it as a limitation on their ability to access valuable resources.
