Bill Summary

The "Child Care Quality and Access Act of 2019" is a bill proposed to increase the amount of funding available for child care entitlement programs. The bill states that the current funding for these programs will be increased from $2,917,000,000 to $3,917,000,000 for the fiscal years 2020 and 2021. This increase in funding is meant to match the investments made by individual states for child care. The bill has been introduced in both the Senate and the House of Representatives and is also known as H.R. 3298. The purpose of this bill is to improve the quality and accessibility of child care services for families in the United States.

Possible Impacts

1. Families may have increased access to quality child care, allowing parents to work or attend school without worrying about their children's care.
2. Child care providers may receive more funding, which could allow them to provide higher quality care and support for children in their care.
3. The increased funding may lead to improved early childhood education and development outcomes for children, potentially benefiting their future academic and social success.
