  Mr. Takano (for himself and Mr. Collins of New York) introduced the 
   following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and 
   Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Science, Space, and 
Technology, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, 
 in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the 
                jurisdiction of the committee concerned

  To make innovative technology loan guarantee support available for 
                     battery storage technologies.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Battery Storage Innovation Act''.

SEC. 2. BATTERY STORAGE TECHNOLOGIES.

    Section 1703(b) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42 U.S.C. 
16513(b)) is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:
            ``(11) Battery storage technologies for residential, 
        industrial, or transportation applications.''.
