Bill Summary

This bill aims to designate the Federal Building and United States Courthouse located in Gainesville, Florida as the Maurice M. Paul Federal Building and United States Courthouse. This means that the building will be officially named after Maurice M. Paul. Any references to the building in official documents and records will also be updated to reflect this new name. This bill will need to be passed by both the Senate and House of Representatives in order to become law.

Possible Impacts

1. Naming a public building after a specific person could honor their legacy and contributions, creating a sense of pride and inspiration for people who live or work in the area.

2. The name change could also spark controversy or debate among community members who may have differing opinions on the person being honored.

3. The legislation could also lead to additional costs for updating signs, maps, and other documents that reference the building. This could potentially affect taxpayers and government funds.
