Bill Summary
This legislation, titled the "Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park Redesignation Act," aims to change the name of the current Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site to the "Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park." This change will be reflected in the official documents, records, and maps of the United States. The Act also makes necessary amendments to Public Law 88-543, which originally designated the site as a historic site. This legislation does not change any other aspects of the site, but simply updates its name to better reflect its status as a National Historical Park.
Possible Impacts
1. Tourism and local businesses: The redesignation of the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site as a national historical park could potentially attract more visitors and tourists to the area, leading to increased revenue for local businesses. This could also create new job opportunities in the tourism industry.
2. Historical preservation: This legislation aims to protect and preserve the historical significance of the site, ensuring that it remains a part of the national park system for future generations to appreciate and learn from.
3. Local community: The redesignation could also have an impact on the local community, as it may bring in more resources and funding for the maintenance and development of the park. This could lead to improvements in the surrounding area, such as better infrastructure and increased opportunities for community involvement and engagement.
