Bill Summary

This legislation, titled the "Reduce Unemployment for Veterans of All Ages Act of 2020," aims to amend title 38 of the United States Code in order to eliminate the period of eligibility for the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment program of the Department of Veterans Affairs. This program provides training and rehabilitation services for veterans with service-connected disabilities. The bill also includes a clause for early implementation, allowing the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to offer rehabilitation programs to veterans who are currently prohibited from receiving them due to certain restrictions. The amendments made by this bill will take effect one year after the date of enactment.

Possible Impacts

1. Potentially reduce unemployment rates among veterans, especially those with service-connected disabilities, by providing them with more opportunities for training and rehabilitation.
2. Increase the availability of resources and support for veterans seeking employment and career advancement.
3. Could potentially save the government money by eliminating the need for continuous eligibility checks for veterans seeking vocational rehabilitation and employment services.
