Bill Summary

This legislation, known as the "Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility Act," was enacted by the United States Congress to change the name of the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center in Plum Brook Station, Ohio to the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center at the Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility. This change was made to honor astronaut Neil A. Armstrong, who was a native of Ohio and began his career in space exploration at the center. The legislation also specifies that any references to the center in laws, maps, regulations, and other official documents will now refer to it as the "NASA John H. Glenn Center at the Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility." This change does not alter the relationship between the Plum Brook Station and the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center.

Possible Impacts

1. People living in Wapakoneta, Ohio may feel a sense of pride or honor that their native son, Neil A. Armstrong, is being recognized and honored through this legislation.
2. Current employees or visitors of the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center at Plum Brook Station may feel a sense of attachment to the current name and may have to adjust to the new name and identity of the facility.
3. This legislation may also spark a debate or discussion about the significance and legacy of Neil A. Armstrong and his contributions to space exploration.
