 To amend the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to make innovative technology 
      loan guarantees available for battery storage technologies.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Battery Storage Innovation Act of 
2019''.

SEC. 2. LOAN GUARANTEES FOR BATTERY STORAGE TECHNOLOGIES.

    Section 1703(b) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42 U.S.C. 
16513(b)) is amended by adding at the end the following:
            ``(11) Battery storage technologies for residential, 
        industrial, or transportation applications.''.
