Bill Summary

This bill, titled "Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act," aims to make changes to the repayment terms for the Arkansas Valley Conduit project in Colorado. The bill proposes to amend Public Law 87-590, which outlines the funding and repayment for the project. The amendments include specifying that the repayment will not include interest and will only consist of funding received during the construction phase from sources other than the Secretary. Additionally, the bill extends the repayment period to 100 years. The second amendment removes the requirement for interest to be included in the repayment, and instead specifies that it is in reference to the subsection (c) of the first section.

Possible Impacts

1. The modification to repayment for the Arkansas Valley Conduit could affect people who use the conduit for their water supply. The changes to the repayment terms could potentially result in increased costs for users, or a decrease in funds available for maintaining the conduit.
2. The amendment to Public Law 87-590 could impact people who live in the State of Colorado, particularly those in the Arkansas Valley. The changes to the law could potentially affect the funding and construction of the conduit, which could have implications for the local community.
3. The 100-year repayment period outlined in Section 1 could affect future generations of people, as they may still be paying off the conduit even after its construction is completed. This could have a financial impact on individuals and families for years to come.
