Bill Summary

This legislation proposes a limitation on the amount of funds that can be allocated for the U.S. Department of Interior's North American Wetlands Conservation Fund for the fiscal year 2024. This means that the total amount of money authorized for the fund cannot exceed $42,000,000. This limitation would apply even if there are other provisions in the law that would allow for a higher amount of funding. The purpose of this limitation is to control the budget and spending for this particular fund in the given fiscal year.

Possible Impacts

1. The limitation on funds for the North American Wetlands Conservation Fund may affect conservation efforts and the protection of wetland habitats for various plant and animal species.
2. The limitation may also impact the budget and operations of the U.S. Department of Interior and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, potentially affecting jobs and resources for employees.
3. The limitation may also lead to less funding and support for projects and initiatives related to wetlands conservation, potentially impacting the livelihoods of individuals and communities who rely on these habitats for various purposes, such as fishing or recreation.
