Bill Summary
This legislation aims to amend the Honoring America's Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012 in order to change the eligibility requirements for entities working with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide case management services to homeless veterans in the Department of Housing and Urban Development's supported housing program. The specific change would allow these entities to provide case management services to veterans in different locations, rather than just in the specific area where the services will be provided. This would allow for more flexibility in providing suitable housing for homeless veterans in different areas across the country.
Possible Impacts
1. Homeless veterans may have access to case management services in more locations nationwide, making it easier for them to find suitable housing in different areas.
2. Entities collaborating with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs may have to meet certain eligibility requirements, potentially limiting the number of organizations that can provide services to homeless veterans.
3. The Department of Housing and Urban Development may have to allocate more resources to support the increased demand for housing assistance for homeless veterans.
