Bill Summary

This bill, titled the "No Tax Dollars for the United Nations Climate Agenda Act", prohibits the United States from contributing to three organizations related to climate change: the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the Green Climate Fund. This means that no funds from any federal department or agency can be used to make assessed or voluntary contributions on behalf of the United States to these organizations.

Possible Impacts

1. Higher taxes for citizens - Since the bill prohibits contributions to certain climate change initiatives, the government may have to cover the costs of these initiatives through other means, such as raising taxes on citizens. This could affect people by reducing their disposable income and potentially limiting their ability to purchase goods and services.

2. Limited access to resources - Without contributions to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the Green Climate Fund, the United States may have limited access to resources and information related to climate change. This could negatively impact individuals and communities who rely on these resources for their livelihoods or well-being.

3. Reduced international collaboration - By prohibiting contributions to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the US may limit its involvement in international efforts to address climate change. This could have a negative impact on individuals who rely on global cooperation to mitigate the effects of climate change, such as communities in developing countries.
