Bill Summary

A concurrent resolution is a type of legislative action taken by both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the US Congress. In this specific resolution, Congress is expressing their disapproval of the actions taken by Dictator President Guillermo Lasso of Ecuador. These actions include dissolving the National Assembly and silencing the voice of his opposition in an attempt to avoid being impeached. Congress believes that these actions should be condemned and disapproved, and they also condemn and reject any form of socialism, totalitarianism, and dictatorship. This resolution is a way for Congress to officially state their disapproval of the actions taken by President Lasso and show their support for democracy in Ecuador.

Possible Impacts

1. Individuals living in Ecuador may be affected by this legislation if they were supporters or members of the National Assembly that was dissolved by Dictator President Guillermo Lasso. They may feel silenced and excluded from the political process and unable to voice their opposition to the president's actions.

2. The legislation may also affect international relations and diplomacy between Ecuador and other countries, as it expresses disapproval of the president's actions and condemns socialism, totalitarianism, and dictatorships. This could potentially strain relationships and impact trade and economic agreements.

3. The legislation could also have a direct impact on the citizens of Ecuador if the president's actions lead to further political instability and unrest in the country. This could result in disruptions to daily life and potential violations of human rights.
